Eierhäuschen Spreepark Berlin
At the beginning of 2024, the renovated Eierhäuschen with restaurant and beer garden was reopened as a pilot project for the future Spreepark.
The Eierhäuschen is an old Berlin restaurant located on the edge of the Plänterwald forest on the banks of the Spree. It was built in the second half of the 19th century. Over the course of time, it was rebuilt twice and was in operation until 1990. The third building of the Eierhäuschen from 1892 was renovated, extended and completed in 2023. Since spring 2024, it has been fully completed and reopened with a restaurant, beer garden and exhibition space.
The planning of the light and its lighting fixtures for the Eierhäuschen follows the premise of strengthening the monument and not competing with it. To this end, emphasis was placed on elegant reservation in relation to the historic building, so that the architecture can have all the more impact. The use of decorative luminaire design was largely avoided.
The luminaire bodies stand in the background, are subtle and not historicizing.
Lighting and the atmosphere of the respective area are in the main focus. Optimum color rendering and precise light distribution illuminate the room either selectively or over a wide area, depending on requirements.
