New mobility stations for the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund

As part of the regiomove project (Regional Mobility Association), existing mobility offers in the Middle Upper Rhine region are to be better networked in the future. In addition to the bus and train connections of the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV), car sharing and rental bike providers are to be integrated into the system.

As an element of regiomove, new mobility stations, so-called ports, are to be built where passengers can easily choose between different modes of transport and change them. However, there is also the possibility, depending on the location and its centrality, to expand the mobility stations with other usage offers, such as service or service facilities.

The “line” design is a distinctive and independent design that reflects the idea of a system of networked, multimodal mobility offers that can be used by everyone Networking of all mobility offers in the spatial context. The networking of the entire regional mobility system is recognizable as a landmark at every connection point and can be experienced coherently by the users in the regional area. The modular system is based on a basic structure made of square steel tubes and a roof element, this consists of laminated glass with colored translucent foils. The color system of the roof elements was adapted to the day and night situation, shine through and self-luminous. The individual colors represent the mobility options to be found in each case and, in their different constellations, the entire system.

The roof space is illuminated by indirect LED strips that are invisibly integrated into the upper beams. In addition, subtle lighting elements illuminate the living area below the roof elements. A supply of solar panels is aimed at for the modules. Presence-dependent control of the direct light reduces energy consumption.
